What we can coordinate

Useful automation, room by room.

Start with one problem or plan a whole renovation. Compatibility, cabling, connectivity, fallback behaviour and product support are checked before equipment is specified.

Lighting and everyday scenes

Smart switching, dimming and practical scenes such as arriving home, bedtime and away—without removing familiar wall control.

Heating, cooling and blinds

Coordinate supported climate equipment, blinds and curtains around comfort, routines and energy use.

Energy, solar and EV visibility

Measure selected circuits and coordinate supported energy equipment. Any EV charger integration is bench-tested before it is promised.

Home networking

Plan the wired and wireless network that connected equipment relies on, including sensible coverage and secure account setup.

CCTV and entry coordination

Coordinate supported cameras, intercoms and notifications while keeping privacy, access control and system ownership clear.

Renovations and smart-ready wiring

Plan neutral wiring, data cabling, switch locations and future pathways before walls close, without locking the home into one controller.

A home that stays useful

01 — Electrical first

Built on solid foundations.

We assess circuits, switchboard capacity, cable paths and network coverage before promising clever features.

02 — Familiar control

Switches still work.

The home remains intuitive for family, visitors and trades. Manual operation is designed in, not added later.

03 — Local where practical

Not helpless without the cloud.

Core routines and controls are selected with sensible outage behaviour and supported equipment in mind.

04 — Proper handover

You own the system.

Accounts, equipment records, operating notes and agreed backup information are documented at completion.

Our design rules

Serviceable beats clever.

The best system is the one your household can still operate when a phone is flat, an account is unavailable or the internet is down.

1

Electrical first

We assess the existing circuits, switchboard, loads, cable routes and controls before recommending connected products.

2

Fallback designed in

Manual operation and sensible failure behaviour are part of the scope, not an afterthought.

3

Products chosen for the job

Depending on the design, options may include Shelly, Zimi, Clipsal Wiser, UniFi and Home Assistant. Compatibility is confirmed for the specific equipment proposed.

4

Ownership handed over

Customer accounts, device records, basic operating notes and agreed backup information are documented at completion.

Ways to start

Start small or plan the whole home.

Existing home

Targeted retrofit

Improve selected lighting, controls, energy monitoring or network coverage while retaining the home's familiar operation.

Renovation

Coordinated room plan

Map switching, power, data, blinds, climate and future equipment before finishes and cabinetry are locked in.

New build

Smart-ready electrical design

Coordinate the electrical and network foundations with your builder and other trades, including future expansion pathways.

Pricing is site-specific. We are not publishing untested package prices. The written proposal will identify the equipment, installation, configuration, exclusions and any ongoing support separately.

How it works

Assess, design, install, support.

  1. Tell us the outcome

Explain what feels repetitive, unreliable or difficult and what equipment is already in the home.

  2. Site assessment

We inspect the electrical installation, network, controls, access and the likely product pathways.

  3. Written system scope

The proposal separates electrical work, equipment, configuration, handover and any support arrangement.

  4. Commission and hand over

We test the agreed operation, explain manual fallback and provide the applicable electrical documentation.

Common questions

Smart-home questions

Will the home still work if the internet is down?

We design manual control and local operation wherever practical. The exact offline behaviour depends on the products and integrations selected, so it is confirmed in the written scope rather than assumed.

Can you automate an existing home?

Often, yes. Retrofit options can sit behind suitable existing switches or coordinate supported wireless devices, but neutral conductors, switchboard space, Wi-Fi, cabling and product compatibility still need assessment.

Do you install Home Assistant?

Home Assistant can be used as a convenience and coordination layer where it suits the project. It does not carry smoke alarms, RCD protection, emergency functions or another safety-critical function, and the support boundary is documented before installation.

Does every Matter product work together?

No universal promise is made. Matter can improve interoperability, but device type, software version, border router, platform support and Australian product compliance still matter. We confirm compatibility for the actual products proposed.

Which smart-home brands do you use?

Depending on the job, options may include Shelly, Zimi, Clipsal Wiser, UniFi and Home Assistant. These are examples rather than a claim of partnership, and the proposal identifies the exact equipment and support path.

What warranty and support are included?

The quote separates manufacturer product warranties, Carbon's electrical workmanship obligations, configuration support and any optional ongoing service. Australian Consumer Law rights are not excluded.
