What information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and deliver our services.
Information you give us directly:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address (if provided)
- Suburb or service address
- Details of the work you're asking about (e.g. "split system install", "emergency no-power")
- Any photos or documents you choose to share
Information collected automatically:
- IP address and approximate city (used only to show you the correct suburb name on the landing page)
- Browser type, device type and referring URL
- Pages visited and actions taken on our website
- Google Ads click identifier (gclid) and UTM tracking parameters if you arrived from an ad
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to collect this site usage data. We do not collect payment card information through the website.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your quote or service request — call or email you back with information, a quote, or to book a visit.
- Provide the service you've asked for — attend your property, complete the work, and issue invoices and certificates.
- Keep records required by law — electrical safety certificates (COES), ARCtick refrigerant logs, tax invoices, and warranty records.
- Improve our website and advertising — aggregated analytics so we know which pages and campaigns are useful.
- Measure ad performance — Google Ads conversion tracking, so we know which ads resulted in a genuine enquiry.
We will not sell your personal information. We will not send you marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
When we share information
We may share personal information with:
- Trade partners we refer you to (e.g. for alarm monitoring, where we don't hold the required security licence) — only with your permission.
- Service providers who help us run our business — e.g. our CRM, invoicing software (Xero), form provider (Tally), and Google Analytics. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
- Energy distributors and regulators — where required to lodge electrical work (e.g. AusNet, Jemena, CitiPower, Energy Safe Victoria).
- Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to.
Some of these providers (e.g. Google) may store data outside Australia. We only use providers with strong data-protection practices that are consistent with the APPs.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that don't become jobs: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Completed job records: kept for at least 7 years, as required by Australian tax and electrical safety law.
- Website analytics data: retained in Google Analytics per our configured retention settings (default 14 months).
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act you can:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any information that's wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information (where we're not legally required to keep it).
- Opt out of analytics and advertising tracking using standard browser controls or Google's opt-out tools.
- Complain if you think we've mishandled your information.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] or call 0468 403 129. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies to:
- Remember your session (security).
- Track which advertising campaign brought you to us (Google Ads gclid).
- Measure which pages are visited (Google Analytics).
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal information — including encrypted form submissions (HTTPS), access controls on our CRM, and spam/bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) on forms.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed. Material changes will be prominently posted on our website.
