Choose the right HEXA or HexSpace family for your space

Classic, bordered, RGB/RGBW and modular grid systems are different product families with different layouts and control options. Tell us about the garage, ceiling and finish you want so the product and electrical scope can be assessed together.

HEXA Classic or Bordered

Single-colour grids with open or framed layouts. Compare the ceiling geometry, coverage and finish before selecting a kit.

HEXA RGB/RGBW

Colour-changing lighting is a separate product family from Classic or Bordered. Controls, switching and compatibility need to be included in the scope.

HexSpace modular grids

Modular grid options for garages, workshops and larger spaces. Product availability and the proposed layout are confirmed before installation is quoted.

How it works

  1. Pick your kit

Choose the brand, family and garage size — HEXA and HexSpace options are priced separately.

  2. Plan the layout

Share your garage size, ceiling access and preferred finish so we can scope the right system before the assessment.

  3. Site assessment

We measure the space, confirm access and switching requirements, then provide the installation scope and price.

  4. Install and document

Complete the agreed mounting, switching and electrical work, then test the system and provide applicable electrical safety documentation.

What a good install looks like

A considered layout starts with ceiling geometry, door tracks, work areas and the viewing lines that make an uneven grid obvious. Cable routes, mounting and suitable circuit protection are confirmed for the selected system and site.

Where compatible controls are included, we configure the agreed switching or app functions and explain everyday operation at handover.

Hex-light product families to compare

Product availability changes. Compare the layout, light output, colour options, controls and ceiling fit before ordering; the electrical installation is scoped separately for the property.

Compact clusters

Smaller feature layouts for a focused work or display area.

Single-garage grids

Open-grid layouts planned around door tracks, storage and the usable ceiling area.

Extended grids

Longer layouts for deeper garages, workshops or detailing bays.

Double-garage layouts

Wider coverage where symmetry, switching zones and cable routes need early planning.

Bordered systems

Framed layouts with a defined outer edge and different ceiling-space requirements.

RGB/RGBW systems

Colour-capable product families with separate controller and compatibility considerations.

Hex-light installation questions

What affects a hex-light installation quote?

The selected product family, grid size, ceiling layout, access, cable route, switching, controls and any related electrical work all affect the scope.

Can you help me choose the right layout?

Yes. We review the garage dimensions, photos, ceiling geometry, door tracks and work areas, then compare suitable Classic, Bordered, RGB/RGBW or modular options.

Can you install a kit I already bought?

Often, subject to checking that the kit is complete, suitable for the site and compatible with the proposed switching and electrical connection.

Do I need an electrician for hex lights?

Plug-in products should be used in accordance with their supplier instructions. New fixed wiring, outlets, hard-wired switching and other electrical installation work must be completed under the appropriate Victorian electrical licensing arrangements.

Can hex lights be installed in a rental or shared property?

It may be possible with the required written approvals. Confirm landlord, owners corporation or building requirements before equipment is ordered or the ceiling is altered.

How long does installation take?

The work period depends on the grid size, ceiling access, mounting, cable route, switching and any related electrical work. The expected program is confirmed with the written scope.

What about RGB, app or voice control?

RGB/RGBW is a separate product family from fixed-colour grids. Control options depend on the selected system, controller, network and switching design, so compatibility is confirmed before installation.

Where do you install hex lights?

Carbon Group Electrical services Melbourne’s eastern and inner-eastern suburbs, including Croydon, Ringwood, Box Hill, Blackburn, Doncaster, Hawthorn, Camberwell, Kew and surrounding areas. Confirm availability for the property when requesting a quote.
