Upgrade completed in 3–5 hours — new board, labelled circuits, RCDs
Certificate of Electrical Safety issued, Energy Safe Victoria notified
We remove your old ceramic fuse box or outdated board and install a modern circuit breaker panel with safety switches (RCDs) on every circuit. All wiring is checked, circuits are labelled, and we issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety (COE) for your records and insurance.
Most residential switchboard upgrades in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs sit between $900 and $1,800 depending on the number of circuits, whether earthing upgrades are needed, and your existing wiring condition. We give you a flat price on-site before any work starts.
If your switchboard has ceramic fuses, no safety switches (RCDs), or regularly trips — it needs upgrading. Victorian regulations require safety switches on all new and upgraded switchboards. Older boards also can’t support EV chargers or air conditioning circuits safely.
Most upgrades are completed in 3–5 hours. We work Monday to Saturday, 7am–7pm, and weekends at no extra charge.

“Ceramic fuse boxes aren’t just outdated — they’re a genuine safety risk. A modern board with RCDs on every circuit is one of the best things you can do for your home, and it’s required by law on any upgraded switchboard in Victoria.”
