Vermont 3133 large-lot homes typically need multi-head split installs — 3-5 heads across living, bedrooms and study. Multi-split outdoor units (Mitsubishi MXZ or Daikin RXM series) keep the external footprint to a single condenser instead of multiple. AusNet distributor. We see a lot of Vermont jobs that combine AC for a granny flat, studio or detached pool cabana with the main-house split work — we run separate circuits and ARCtick-licensed pipework to outbuildings as needed. 6km from Croydon, same-week scheduling typical.

Air conditioning FAQ — Vermont

How much does a split-system AC install cost in Vermont?

Single-head 2.5kW (small bedroom): from $1,690. 3.5kW (mid bedroom/study): from $1,890. 5kW (lounge/main living): from $2,290. 7-8kW (large open-plan): from $2,890. Multi-split (2-3 heads): from $4,990. Prices include unit, pipework, install, ARCtick + electrical compliance.

Mitsubishi or Daikin?

Both are excellent — we install both. Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-AP and Daikin Cora are our standard residential range. For ultra-quiet bedrooms, Daikin US7 (19dB indoor) wins. For designer aesthetics, Mitsubishi MSZ-LN. We'll spec based on your room and budget, not push one brand.

Do I need ARCtick certification?

Your installer does — anyone handling refrigerant in Australia must be ARCtick licensed. We hold ARCtick L186818. We also issue a Certificate of Electrical Safety on every job, since AC installs need a dedicated circuit.

What size AC do I need?

Roughly 0.15kW per square metre for well-insulated rooms, more for west-facing or poorly insulated. A 16m² bedroom = ~2.5kW. A 30m² lounge = ~5kW. Open-plan living/kitchen 50m² = 7-8kW. We measure and spec on-site so you don't end up with a unit that short-cycles or can't keep up.

Can the outdoor unit go on a side or rear wall?

Yes — we usually run pipework in wall cavities for back-to-back installs, or route it externally in colour-matched ducting where cavity routing isn't practical. Outdoor units go side wall, rear wall, on the ground, or wall-bracketed depending on what works best for your home.
